Beautiful Day

It's raining outside. It's a beautiful day. Feels like driving around with loud music should be fun. I should have taken the day off today.

This time last year, I was looking forward to getting my immigration stuff in order and move to Sweden sometime in the future. It's amazing how much I've changed in the last two years. Now I just wanna move to California. Settle in California. I still wanna be able to travel around the world.

Sailing all over the world sounds like a lot of fun.

Not so stupid

Well the HP is working OK after all. So I won't call it stupid. :)

I could be sailing

<rant>
I could be out there sailing or riding a motorbike. I could be driving on a cross country trip. That would be fun.

But I'm here writing MS Windows Services to run Java code via the JNI interface and Sun doesn't even provide a function to do a stack trace dump of the last exception thrown by the stupid program written by someone else. *sigh*

But you didn't need to read that, did you?

One of these days I should start a sail-boat fund and see if anyone parts with their funds in the name of a sail-boat for someone else.

Back to work.
</rant>

Stupid HP

The new computer seems to be following a random pattern of working. MSPaint doesn't run. Well it shows in the process list but doesn't the GUI at all. While accessing different menus, the computer just freezes. Is it too fast for the operating system? I doubt it, Microsoft would never write an OS that would under utilize the horse power. InterDVD also hangs the computer. Couldn't install IIS on it because it stops after about 87% progress. Then it wouldn't uninstall it.

And I've already given my older computer to my parents. The older computer was a Sony. So much better. HP looks nice but has yet to impress me with its speed or with its out of the box installation.

Not to mention the bracket containing the Media buttons, memory card readers, and the floppy drive wasn't mounted properly. It looked broken after unpacking. Had to fix that too.

This computer is just starting to really make me upset. I mean two days now without a computer that works properly. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I will do a system recovery and it that doesn't work, I'll install my own copy of the XP Media Center Edition.

Cali bloggers

Someone over at Cali Blog is clicking on my blog link? That's kinda neat that someone is looking at my blog. After all I am putting a lot of spicy stuff here, right? Ok maybe not, but just if you're back, "Hey!"

Tired

Man, it's 2:36am and I'm finally getting ready to get off the computer. Fixed up both computers today. The new Media Center is nice. The monitor is starting to look small for some reason though. Could be that the new one that I bought for my parents looks a little bigger.

I'm sticking with this one though 'coz this one has a nice silver and black matching look with the computer.

I'm tired. Me out.

CNN.com - Maine celebrating French connection - Jun 23, 2004:

"On June 26, when dignitaries from France, Canada and the United States set foot on the 6.5-acre (2.6-hectare) grassy outcropping, it will look much as it did when Pierre Dugua, Samuel Champlain and 77 other men arrived 400 years ago to carve out the first French settlement in the New World."

CNN.com - Review: 'White Chicks' surprisingly funny - Jun 23, 2004

So bl*ck people can make fun of white people and ridicule them as much as they want but wh*te people would be big*ts if they even thought about doing the same to the bl*ck people? Seems like this might be just a little hypocritical.

* I don't wanna earn it, I just want it handed to me. (Which by the way is the attitude of only a few but nonetheless remains acceptable) *

Yahoo! News - Nader Again Refuses Dems' Request He Quit

I think Nader just might help the Republicans again. :)

Can I buy the oversleep option?

Not enough rest last nite. Went to bed a little too late. Well spent sometime playing games on the computer. After that started formatting the blog. It took quite some time to try out different things. By the time I got to bed, it was 2:00am.

Now I feel like I just wanna lie down and sleep for a good 4 hours.

Computer #2

Got the new computer today. It looks sweet. Gotta buy a monitor. Gotta buy a router.

Then the two computers should be working together soon. And nature calls....

Time to go home

Is it time to go home yet?

I think it is. 6:40PM? Man, that's a lot of work for being a salaried emp.

Wonder where my future sail boat is right now. I should start a sailboat fund so people can donate money towards the sailboat fund. Like Dan over at the Cinema 24.

Ah, one of these days. :)

Bush vs. Kerry

Why is the Bush vs. Kerry drama slowing down? I mean we need more slander. Of course, I'm rooting for the Bush/Chenney team. Does Kerry even have a running mate? Not that Bush is the best guy out there but hey, he's the better of the two.

Not to mention it would break the Texas tradition for me to not support Bush.... At least with words ('coz I ain't donating for either side).

So "Go Bush!"

Daydreaming

Every morning I come here (to work apparently) and start daydreaming about travelling the world. I search for travelling related material online. I peruse websites and read about others' experiences.

Could I possibly get out of this rackety old cube one day and go different places? I think so....

I would love to get a big boat and just sail across the sea. Dock in different harbors. Aye Matey!

And if I were tired of sailing I would simply fly.

Allow me to rebut

My boss gave me a piece of his mind today, just like that. Only if I could rebut and tell him that I don't have to listen to that. If only I could walk right out! But.... I know I need the job and he knows it. So there we were, my face was all red - I was embarrassed because of not being able to defend myself and I was mad because I didn't wanna have to listen to such insults. But quietly I let the storm die down and then I just told my boss that I'd do a better job. And back to work. Whatever, Man!

American Corporate culture is taking over peoples' lives. It's forcing people to live for working and that's not good. Currently everything in America is owned by GE. If GE doesn't own it then GM surely does. And if even GM didn't consider it worth its money, then it's peanuts and Ford definitely owns it. Together they're corrupting the lifestyles and the living standards of an entire generation just to be able to turn a profit.

Forget this, I want to be a king!

GE is a monster

GE is an enormous multinational industrial company headquartered in Fairfield, Connecticut. GE describes itself as composed of a number of primary business units or "businesses." Each "business" is itself a vast enterprise, any of which would, if separate, rank in the Fortune 500 by itself. The list of GE businesses varies over time as the result of acquisitions and reorganizations. The GE businesses as of 2004 are:
GE Advanced Materials
GE Commercial Finance
GE Consumer Finance
GE Consumer & Industrial (including home appliances)
GE Energy
GE Equipment Services
GE Healthcare
GE Infrastructure
GE Insurance
NBC Universal
GE Transportation Through these businesses, GE participates in a wide variety of markets including the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity, lighting, industrial automation, medical imaging equipment, motors, railway locomotives, military gatling guns, aircraft jet engines, aviation services and materials such as plastics, silicones and abrasives. It was co-founder and is the sole current owner of NBC Universal, the National Broadcasting Company. As GE Commercial Finance, GE Consumer Finance, GE Equipment Services, and GE Insurance it offers a range of financial services as well. It has a presence in over 100 countries.

Man, that's a lot!

Monday Blues?

Man the weekend is gone so fast. It's another Monday. Don't have much work for now. Well don't have _any_ work for now. So maybe I'll just return to daydreaming for a while.
That's the best passtime right after doing nothing.

The Benjamin Gate

The Benjamin Gate put out two amazing albums. And I kept expecting a new one to be even cooler. Then I found out they were no longer together. The singer got married and didn't wanna have to be in the band anymore.

Anybody quitting singing is tolerable but with a voice like the TBG's lead singer, it should be against the law to quit singing or something. I mean she has an amazing voice.

I want a new record >>.<<

Whatever

So the email blog option is not working even though the help says it should work. Now I have to log in to post a blog entry. Whatever!

Just bought a new HP Media Center PC. Should be completing transaction soon.

Conference Call

The customer has a smart-aleck person on the call and this person is making a bunch of fuss about the design document. Let's call this person J. Can I just kick J a little?

More changes to the design doc.

The customer didn't understand the concept of a design document and
why it's needed two weeks ago and now they're wanting to make all
sorts of changes to the document. So we were contracted for.....?

Acid Pro And Gmail Rock!

Acid pro rocks because I can record whatever I want.

gmail rocks because everyone wants one and now I have one. :) And of course I was invited by somebody at the office. The name shall remain unmentioned to protect their privacy.

About

This blog is written by Johny B. Goode (Pen Name). I'm a geek and sometimes a nerd. However, most smarts required to be truly a nerd are missing.

I blog about technology, music, news, and babies. Oh the cutest things they do! It's pretty amazing to watch a little person complete with their own mindset and personality. Sometimes as a programmer, I think it's so simple describing a baby but then I see kids do the most amazing things and I think to myself, "You can't program that!" Life, from the very get go, is complex and a gift from God.

The blog is always about something fun. If I'm not having fun, I'm probably stuck at work. Even so, I'll think of fun things to do later.

Much of the technology today is a fad. It comes and goes. Some things catch our fancy and grab our attention. These are the things we might spend our hard-earned money on. It is these things you might read about here.

Then there's the new technologies in software. I might be learning something new for work. Or for fun. It is these things you might see a post or two about.

Over the years I have started many blogs. None has constant as many posts as this one. I have been away for long periods of time from this blog and have still come back and posted more. So hopefully, you'll find something fun to read.
